The Tale Of The Aya Suit

The Tale Of The Aya Suit

A story of heritage, courage, and a woman stepping into global spaces with intention.

The Aya Suit was born out of a simple yet powerful idea:

What if a modern Filipina could wear a tailored piece that carried the soul of her heritage—wherever in the world her mission takes her?

I. The First Aya Suit — The Birth of a Symbol

The very first Aya Suit debuted at Seoul Fashion Week 2024 in Spring Green and Seafoam Green, a fresh gradient inspired by growth, renewal, and the promise of a new chapter. This was not just any garment—it became a catalyst.

Aya traveled to Berlin, Germany and wore the same piece to receive her start-up’s (Eco-Uling) first international recognition:the Women Empowerment Award from the Bayer Foundation, in partnership with Impact Hub. In that moment— the Aya Suit became more than clothing. It became a declaration of Filipino innovation and women-led impact.

II. The Second Aya Suit — Midnight Power

The second iteration came in deep black with handwoven Ifugao patterns, sharp shoulders, and a dramatic presence. Aya wore it during her birthday shoot, marking a personal milestone in a piece that blended strength and sensuality.

If the first suit symbolized emergence, the black Aya Suit symbolized command— a woman owning her story and her power.

III. The Third Aya Suit — Red for Purpose

The third Aya Suit reimagined the silhouette in black, red, and gray indigenous weaves, with an asymmetrical front panel and a crisp white wrap tie. Aya wore it to a Nescafe event, where sustainability, culture, and modern leadership intersected once again.

This version represented dialogue: between past and future, tradition and modernity, local artisans and global brands.

What the Aya Suit Represents

Across its three evolutions, the Aya Suit has remained constant in one truth: It is made for a Filipina who carries heritage not as a burden, but as fuel.

Each suit is hand-cut, hand-woven, and intentionally designed— a collaboration between Aya’s journey and the artistry of indigenous weavers.

The Aya Suit is no longer just a garment.

It is a chronicle of a woman rising, leading, and returning to her roots—every time she steps into the world.
